Marty's Closet has thousands of items of clothing available for all gender-diverse South Dakotans and those within a 90 mile radius of SD!

Make an appointment to meet with a personal stylist in Sioux Falls who will help you choose a free week’s worth of outfits that make you feel amazing!
You are welcome to come back every 6 months!

Binder Resources

Trans Essentials - Free Binder Program

This program offers free binders to those aged 24 and under who are unable to afford them due to financial circumstances. Applicants are eligible for Underworks Tri-Top Binders in white or black.

Point of Pride - Free Chest Binders

Point of Pride provides free chest binders to any trans person who needs one but cannot afford or safely obtain one.

If you’d like to try on a binder for sizing before ordering it from one of the resources above, you can try them on at Marty’s Closet.

Marty’s Closet
accepts:

  • Seasonally appropriate clothing that is clean, free of animal hair and strong smells, and does not have rips or staining.

  • Casual wear in teen and adult sizes

  • Graphic tees that are not political or religious in nature, or have inappropriate images

  • Outerwear, denim or leather jackets, stylish casual wear jackets, trench coats, long coats

  • Dresses and Skirts

  • Sweaters, Sweatshirts and Hoodies

  • Jeans and Casualwear pants

  • Vests

Marty’s Closet
does not accept:

  • Children’s clothing or shoes

  • Swimwear or coverups

  • Undergarments

  • Workout clothing or sports wear (golf, tennis, etc)

  • Conservative businesswear, full suits - Please donate women’s business attire to Dress For

  • Success

  • Gowns/Tuxedos - please donate these to Sioux Falls Pride

  • Stained or ripped clothing

  • Outdated styles

  • Shoes

Please donate items that we do not accept to Union Gospel Mission if possible.

Weekly Volunteer Hours at Marty’s Closet

Tuesdays, 12pm to 8pm

Volunteers can drop in at any time, whether for an hour or the entire session.

Marty’s Closet is named in honor of Stephanie Marty who brought the idea of a trans closet to life. Stephanie came out later in life and is passionate about making sure gender diverse South Dakotans have clothing that reflects their authentic selves.
